How It Works -- for Authors
For Phoenix-area authors -- regardless of your genre, style or writing intention -- AA/SA -- the Arizona Author/Speaker Alliance -- Phoenix -- represents an economical “broadcast medium,” a way to reach out with your information to a community of over 2,000 organizations and institutions that regularly use speakers at their meetings, meals, celebrations, fundraising events and other gatherings.
Your BASIC annual membership assures that you will be listed among the hundreds of member authors and that your speaking topics will be included in the Online Master Directory of Local Author Speakers, Seminar Leaders, Workshop Facilitators, Trainers and Presenters that AASA is assembling.
An optional, PREFERRED membership provides you with your own web page on the AA/SA site, so that people who would like to know more about you than they can glean from just a listing will be able to look at your page, print it out, get your background, assess your credentials, and contact you directly if they are interested in having you appear before their groups. We will even include a link to your own site, if you wish, and your page will be updated as needed throughout the term of your membership . . . at no additional charge.
If you're not already an accomplished public speaker -- or if you're downright terrified of trying to be one -- AA/SA has expert coaches, mentors and teachers available to work with you, at reasonable cost, to develop your program, improve your speaking style, deepen your “personal presentation skills,” and raise your over-all comfort level about speaking to groups.
When a group contacts you, through us or directly (if referred by our website), you get to negotiate on price and terms, so you absolutely control your own destiny as a speaker. You will not owe any portion of your fee to AA/SA, since we do not function as a Program Bureau or Speakers' Agent; rdather, we are simply a "Referral Service."
